21-year-old Ukrainian rams Montenegrin PM's motorcade

21-year-old Ukrainian citizen driving a BMW crashed into the motorcade of Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic near Kolasin, Montenegro, injuring three police officers, local broadcaster RTCG reported on Feb. 18.

The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on the Matesevo-Kolasin highway near the village of Skrbusa.

Preliminary data indicated the BMW driver crossed a solid center line into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with an official Mercedes traveling from Kolasin to the capital, Podgorica.

Three police officers inside the Mercedes sustained injuries and received medical assistance. Spajic was riding in a different vehicle within the escort and was not harmed.

Ukrainian driver is the main suspect in the crash. State prosecutors, police, and traffic experts are investigating the scene.

Traffic on the highway section was temporarily blocked to complete the investigation.
