Ukrainian drones destroy two Russian helicopters in occupied Simferopol

Ukrainian drones destroyed two Russian helicopters at an airfield in occupied Simferopol, according to aviation analytics outlet AviVector on Aug. 31.
The strike is believed to have taken place on Aug. 30. Satellite imagery from Aug. 22 and Aug. 30 shows fire damage in the area where Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters had been stationed, OSINT analysts reported.

Russian monitoring channels earlier noted drone activity heading toward Simferopol’s airfield.
Ukraine’s General Staff has not officially commented on the strike.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian forces have lost 340 helicopters, according to the General Staff’s figures as of the morning of Aug. 30.
