Strike drones attacked the 500 kV Taman electrical substation and the Tamanneftegas oil terminal in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, Supernova+ Telegram channel reported on Aug. 20.

The targeted 500 kV substation serves as one of the primary electrical hubs for the energy bridge supplying power to the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula.

Overnight into Aug. 20, a series of powerful explosions shook occupied Sevastopol, after which widespread electricity disruptions were recorded in Simferopol and Dzhankoi. The ATESH partisan movement also reported explosions near a local thermal power plant in Simferopol.

On June 13, drone strikes targeted the Temryuk district in Krasnodar Krai. Local authorities confirmed an impact and subsequent fires at the seaport, while monitoring groups reported significant damage to a port oil terminal complex and two major blazes.

Tamanneftegas operates as a key component of the major Port of Taman, located in the settlement of Volna.
