Special forces from Ukraine’s Military Intelligence (HUR) carried out a successful drone strike on a Russian radar system in the temporarily occupied Crimea, the military wrote on Aug. 29.

The operation targeted and destroyed a 91N6E radar system, a critical component of Russia’s S-400 Triumph air defense complex.

The radar was hit and destroyed by a drone, intelligence officers confirmed, noting that this was a high-value asset, and its elimination has effectively “blinded” one of Russia’s S-400 systems.

Footage published by the HUR shows a direct hit on the radar and a subsequent explosion.

Earlier that night, residents of occupied Sevastopol reported a series of loud explosions. Russian air defenses were also reportedly active in Yevpatoria and near the Belbek airbase.

Ukrainian intelligence later confirmed that it also struck a Russian Buyan-M class missile corvette — a carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles — in the Azov Sea, near occupied Crimea.
