The Ukrainian Southern Defense Forces reported on July 13 that they destroyed 20 Russian armored vehicles, one boat, and two Starlink terminals in the past 24 hours, according to a post on Telegram.

In addition, they eliminated 127 enemy soldiers in the southern sector of the front, along with:

  • 16 artillery systems
  • 3 mortars
  • 3 reconnaissance UAVs
  • 1 electronic warfare station
  • 1 video surveillance camera
  • 1 ATV
  • 3 field supply points
  • 2 observation posts
  • 3 dugouts
  • 1 transformer
  • 1 logistics warehouse
  • 1 UAV control center
  • 1 UAV control repeater.

This follows an earlier report by the British Ministry of Defense on July 12 of the highest recorded Russian casualties since the start of the full-scale invasion, with the average daily number of killed and wounded in Ukraine rising to 1,262 in May and 1,163 in June.

Russia has likely lost over 70,000 soldiers over the past two months, with the uptick in losses attributed to the new Russian offensive in Kharkiv Oblast and active assaults across other fronts.

"Russia's casualty rate will likely continue to average above 1,000 a day over the next two months as Russia continues to try to overmatch Ukrainian positions with mass," the report said.

On the same day, Ukraine's General Staff reported that the Russian military lost approximately 1,030 soldiers in the past 24 hours, pushing the total estimated losses since the start of the full-scale invasion to around 556,650 soldiers.

On May 3, French Foreign Minister Stéphane Sejourne stated that, according to his country's estimates, Russia has already lost 500,000 soldiers in the war against Ukraine.
