Ukrainian forces repel invaders on three fronts – General Staff

Russian invasion forces are concentrating their main efforts on the Bakhmut front in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine’s General Staff said in its morning report on Aug 3.

According to the report, in an attempt to dislodge Ukrainian forces from their positions, Russian invasion forces used artillery to shell the areas around the villages of Kodema, Semihirya, Travneve, Vyimka, Berestove, Bakhmutske and Opytne.

The General Staff also said enemy airstrikes were carried out near the settlements of Semihirya and Bilohorivka.

Russia troops also launched an offensive in the area of the western outskirts of Berestove. They were unsuccessful and retreated. The situation was the same on the Volodymyrivka-Yakovlivka and Semihirya-Kodema sections of the front.

Fighting continues in the Volodymyrivka-Soledar and Pokrovske-Bakhmut areas of the front.

The Ukrainian military inflicted heavy damage and forced Russian invading forces to retreat on the Vidrodzhennya-Kodema and Dolomitne-Semihirya areas of front.

In the area of Siversk, the invaders opened fire using artillery and rockets, as well as using tank fire near Siversk, Serebryanka, and Hryhorivka. The enemy conducted aerial reconnaissance using drones near Nykyforivka and Tetyanivka.

On the Novopavlivsky and Zaporizhzhya sections of the front, shelling was recorded near Kostyantynivka, Novosilka, Velika Novosilka, Charivny, Mala Tokmachka, Novopolya, Yurkivka, and Huliaipole.

Due to a lack of men in a Russian tank regiment, reserve vehicles from another enemy military unit were transferred from the Zaporizhzhya axis to replenish the tank battalions that are part of the 58th Combined Arms Army of Russian Southern Military District.

In order to counter technical means of intelligence gathering by Ukraine, Russian invasion forces are deploying radio-electronic warfare equipment, Ukraine’s General Staff said.
