Russian attempt to stage control over the village of Ostapivske in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast ended with the prompt elimination of a Russian soldier, DeepState monitoring group wrote on Dec. 9.

The Russian invader was ordered to walk about nine kilometers into the rear of Ukraine’s Defense Forces and film himself raising a flag, the analysts wrote.

After this footage appeared online, the Russian Vostok grouping announced that it had “cleared” and taken control of the settlement. However, on his way back, the soldier who had planted the flag was hit by two FPV drones.

“Accordingly, the operational situation on this section remains unchanged,” DeepState concluded.

On Dec. 9, two soldiers of Ukraine’s 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade captured six Russian soldiers in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The prisoners were taken during strike-and-search operations in the Oleksandrivskyi sector. The 67th Brigade added that despite constant Russian attempts to break through the defenses, Ukrainian troops are “holding the line” and continue to move only forward, liberating Ukrainian land.

On Dec. 5, Ukrainian forces liberated the village of Tykhe in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, driving out the occupiers.
