Ukraine's Defense Ministry will allow Ukrainian-made SkyKnight drones to be used for military operations, the ministry said on Telegram on Aug. 19.

"An artificial intelligence, amaximum payload of 2.5 kg, and automatized flight mode," the MoD described the characteristics of the drone, adding that it is fast, powerful, and quiet at the same time. It is also easy to operate.

"If an operator has already mastered DJI, Autel, and stabilized platforms, they will master SkyKnight 2 in no time, in about a week," the message reads.

An operator sets a target that the drone will automatically fly to, managed by the onboard computer.

"Even if the drone loses connection due to enemy electronic warfare jamming, it will still reach the target set by the operator," the military said.

The SkyKnight 2 drone manufacturer submitted its design to the Defense Ministry according to the accelerated procedure for obtaining operational approval.

As of July, the MoD has put into service 28 models of various domestically produced drones since Feb. 22, 2022.
