Ukrainian tank crews from the Ground Forces have completed their training on Leopard 1A5 tanks abroad and are continuing to practice driving the tanks on Ukrainian soil, both day and night, Ground Forces Commander Oleksandr Pavliuk said on Sept. 26.
In addition to driving, the tankers are training in mine-clearing operations, driving in zigzag patterns, evacuating crew members, overcoming tank ditches, and conducting control firing, said the general on Telegram.
Politico previously reported that during military exercises in Germany, Ukrainian soldiers were monitored by unknown drones.
The training is part of the EU Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine), established in 2022 with the aim of training 60,000 Ukrainian soldiers with instructors from 24 countries by the end of 2024.
