To simulate a battlefield atmosphere, smoke, gunfire sounds, explosions, and cold water are used.
In the first stage, soldiers move through trenches while experiencing artillery fire and a full combat simulation.
In the second stage, soldiers must navigate water obstacles.
“The training is at a high level: the instructors, the base, and the Ukrainian administration at the camp are all doing their best to support us,” said a Ukrainian soldier with the call sign Asket. “Most of the guys are mobilized and a bit older, so it's tough for some, but with teamwork, we're moving forward.”
British military instructor Brian noted that the obstacle course simulates the effects and sounds of battle, offering soldiers an immersive experience of being on the battlefield.
“The Ukrainians are doing incredibly well. They've only been serving for a week, and it's amazing to see them go from civilian life to digging trenches and navigating tough obstacle courses in conditions like we have here in the UK during winter,” he said.
