She made this atatement at a meeting with Ukrainian journalists in Washington.
“Our task is to implement this as soon as possible, although it's hard to name exact dates at the moment," Svyrydenko said.
"I believe we’re talking about months — definitely not years. We’re also working to finalize all technical aspects related to funding.”
According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the vote on ratification may take place during the parliamentary session from May 13–15.
Following parliamentary approval, two additional documents are expected to be signed: one to legally establish the fund as a separate entity, and another detailing the technical mechanisms of its operation.
The US–Ukraine critical minerals agreement
Ukraine and the US signed the agreement on April 30. The document outlines the creation of a joint Recovery Investment Fund.
The fund will be a 50/50 initiative between the two countries. Its resources will be invested exclusively in Ukraine — in mineral extraction, oil and gas, infrastructure, and processing projects. Full control over subsoil resources remains with Ukraine, as does the right to determine how national resources are used.
President Donald Trump stated that the US would gain “much more than $350 billion” from the agreement with Ukraine — referencing the amount former President Joe Biden allegedly allocated to aid Ukraine.
On May 1, Deputy Minister and Trade Representative Taras Kachka confirmed that the US–Ukraine mineral agreement consists of 12 articles and a preamble.
