Sanctions fail to prevent Russia from acquiring Western components for EW systems

According to the data he presented, Russia purchased spectrum analyzers and signal generators worth $38 million from American, German, and Swiss companies through Chinese intermediaries in 2023.

This amount reached $12 million this year, indicating that supply continues despite the restrictions.

President's Office head stressed that this should not be happening.

"Sanctions must work," he said.

"Profiting from the lives of Ukrainians is unacceptable."

Earlier Kyrylo Budanov, Military Intelligence Chief, stated that every Russian missile or drone contains Western components.

"Everyone turns a blind eye to what is happening," he emphasized.

On Sept. 10, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell said that China is providing Russia with "very substantial" assistance to strengthen its military machine. In return, Moscow is transferring its submarine and missile military technologies, which are carefully guarded.

On Sept. 24, Ukrainian presidential adviser Vladyslav Vlasiuk reported that the majority of foreign components found in the weapons of Russian occupiers come to Russia from China.
