“Calmit GmbH has subsidiaries across Europe, and another one may soon appear in the Batiovo community,” he wrote.
“Over the next few decades, Ukraine’s construction sector is expected to grow rapidly, so demand for these products will remain high. It’s encouraging that investors are considering Zakarpattya as a location for the new factory.”
According to Biletskyi, company representatives have already visited the proposed site, and Batiovo meets the company’s location criteria.
“Its proximity to the border, the availability of both broad and narrow gauge railway connections, and the logistical potential for raw materials and finished products make it a strategic choice," the governor explained.
"However, we still need to analyze all the technical requirements before launch,” he said. “We’re in contact with the company's founders and Ukrainian representatives, as well as the local community, to ensure the foreign-invested plant becomes operational in Zakarpattya as soon as possible.”
Zakarpattya is becoming a new industrial hub, with numerous new enterprises opening and significant energy generation capacity being developed, Andrii Herus, head of the Ukrainian Parliament’s Energy Committee, said earlier.
In the Sadok area of the village of Chynadiieve in Mukachevo District (Zakarpattya Oblast), a new industrial park called Karpaty (The Carpathians) is being created. In March, the government officially added this park to the national register of industrial zones.
Additionally, the city of Svaliava (Zakarpattya Oblast) is set to host a new Solva Tech industrial park.
