Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Indian PM Modi meet to discuss upcoming second peace summit

In his post he highlighted the countries' strengthening collaboration at international platforms like the UN and G20, along with concrete opportunities for furthering peace efforts.

On Aug. 23, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Ukraine for the first time since the country gained independence in 1991. Modi and Zelenskyy paid tribute to Ukrainian children killed in the war and agreed on future collaboration in the medical, agricultural, humanitarian, and cultural sectors.

Modi stressed India's support for achieving peace in Ukraine through diplomacy, with respect for the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also stressed the importance of dialogue, stating that negotiations and diplomatic efforts are the only viable solutions.

Zelenskyy and Modi highlighted the importance of bilateral defense cooperation, agreeing to hold a second meeting of the joint working group on military-technical cooperation in India. Modi also extended an invitation for Zelenskyy to visit India.
