Zelenskyy: October attacks on Ukraine involved Shaheds with 170,000 foreign components

“Microchips, microcontrollers, processors, many different parts—without these, such terror would be impossible. All of this is supplied to Russia from abroad. Regrettably, it comes from companies in China, Europe, and America—countless micro-contributions to Russia’s ongoing terror,” Zelenskyy posted on social media on Nov. 2.

He added that Russian missiles follow a similar pattern, using components manufactured outside of Russia.

Zelenskyy emphasized that each instance of sanctions evasion by Russia constitutes a crime against humanity, as it enables the aggressor state to strengthen authoritarian regimes in Iran and North Korea.

“To counter Russia’s strikes means also to uphold the strength of sanctions against Russia. Sanctions must be increased and enforced effectively. This is a global threat, and only through global, focused pressure can it be overcome,” Zelenskyy added.

In the early hours of Nov. 2, loud explosions shook Kyiv due to a drone attack. In Sviatoshynskyi     District, drone debris struck a 16-story building, igniting a fire. In Shevchenkivskyi District, fragments damaged an office building, according to the mayor.

Shahed debris fell across six city districts during the morning attack, injuring a police officer who was assisting residents of the damaged building. Kyiv’s military administration later reported that air defenses had intercepted all drones posing a threat to the city.
