The Cabinet will soon enable each Ukrainian citizen to claim
a UAH 1,000 ($24) grant to spend on services and domestically produced goods, President
Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Oct. 25.
“I have instructed the government to introduce a new program starting Dec. 1 that will have a meaningful impact on every family in Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said in his evening address.
“ePidtrymka for all our people — adults, children, every family in Ukraine. One thousand hryvnias per person — for a family, this will be several thousand hryvnias.”
The grants will be made available though Ukraine’s e-governance app Diia, to be spent on utility bills, train tickets, cultural services, or Ukrainian-made books.
“All the details are to be defined by the Cabinet and presented to the public,” the president added.
“I expect this to happen soon. By Dec. 1, the money should be in people's hands.”
