Zelenskyy: Ukraine’s mobilization efforts remain steady

“I don’t see any change in the pace of mobilization,” Zelenskyy said. “It’s in line with what we’ve seen over the past six months. I’m referring to the General Staff’s current plans and their implementation. I heard reports from both the Chief of the General Staff and General Drapaty, commander of the Ground Forces, and they’re moving forward according to plan.”

The president added that Ukraine is actively negotiating with partner countries to increase the supply of weapons and ammunition.

“These discussions take place mostly at the Defense Ministry level and my level, with relevant institutions handling the logistics,” Zelenskyy said. “That’s why funding is essential—because we’re now finding options that are not free. That’s important for us.”

He emphasized that if “the Russian appetite” remains undiminished, Ukraine must scale up its access to weaponry and shells.

“The key is that we’re finding them—they’re available on the market,” Zelenskyy concluded.

On May 23, Kyiv Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko denied reports that mobilization measures were intensifying in the capital.

Earlier, social media channels reported that nine mobile posts involving police and territorial enlistment centers were being set up in Poltava Oblast to ramp up mobilization. Telegram accounts also claimed that additional structures would be deployed in Kyiv.
