Zelenskyy, Trump, and Macron hold private sideline meeting at G7 summit - video

The discussion marked the first face-to-face meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump in nearly four months, as Kyiv seeks to revive peace negotiations with Russia.

Following their private talks, all three presidents joined the joint working session of the Group of Seven (G7) leaders, where Russia's war against Ukraine stood as one of the primary agenda items.

Zelenskyy, Trump, and Macron entered the meeting hall last, the publication noted.

A video was published on the Ukrainian leader's Telegram channel, with a caption from Zelenskyy stating that meetings at the G7 summit in France have already "begun in a meaningful way."

On June 13, Suspilne broadcaster, citing its own sources in the White House, reported that U.S. and Ukrainian Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy will participate in a G7 working session and could potentially hold a meeting on the sidelines of the event.

On June 14, The Guardian wrote that both Trump and Zelenskyy will attend the G7 summit, but stated that a separate, one-on-one meeting between them will not take place.

The G7 summit opened on June 15, in the French resort town of Evian-les-Bains.

The main items on the agenda are the conclusion of the war in Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, French President Emmanuel Macron earlier announced.
