Kherson Oblast recorded zero Russian strikes or civilian casualties over the past day, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin announced on Oct. 29.

On Oct. 29, emergency evacuation teams evacuated six residents from liberated frontline communities within Oblast.

Following years of near-daily Russian artillery bombardments and FPV drone swarms, the city of Kherson has experienced several consecutive days of "rare relief" directly resulting from the localized humanitarian operation in neighboring Oleshky. Reuters has characterized Kherson as a frontline city "where death is always close," describing daily life under constant Russian drone "safaris" launched by operators stationed along the occupied left bank of the Dnipro River.

Between Oct. 27 and Oct. 28, Kherson Regional Military Administration likewise recorded zero strikes or impacts on critical civilian infrastructure, residential housing, or civilian populations.

Ceasefire in Oleshky

On Oct. 23, the White House announced that U.S. First Lady Melania Trump brokered a localized humanitarian truce between Ukraine and Russia, establishing an operational halt to hostilities centered around the occupied town of Oleshky.

Overnight into Oct. 27, Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets declared that a ceasefire had taken effect in Oleshky and across adjacent designated territorial corridors linked to the humanitarian mission.

Shortly thereafter, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov confirmed that the operational humanitarian mission to rescue civilians trapped inside Oleshky had officially begun.

Melania Trump later announced that the geographic perimeter of the ceasefire was expanded beyond the immediate municipal borders of Oleshky, specifically covering regional transit sectors to ensure the safe and unhindered movement of humanitarian relief convoys.
