Hollywood actor and former professional wrestler Dwayne Johnson recorded a video message expressing support for Ukrainian soldiers defending the country against Russian forces.
The video was shared on Facebook by fighters from the 425th Separate Assault Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Johnson, widely known by his wrestling nickname “The Rock,” addressed the message to the regiment’s commander, Lt. Col. Yurii Harkavyi, whose call sign is also “Skelia,” meaning “Rock.”
In the video, Johnson acknowledged that Harkavyi is a fan of his and said he wanted to send a personal message of encouragement after finishing a workout.
“Mr. Commander, Lt. Col. Yurii ‘Skelia.’ From one Rock to another — brother, I’m sending you love from the Iron Paradise,” Johnson said, referring to his home gym. “I just finished my workout and thought it would be cool to send you this message after training, because I heard you’re a fan of mine — and that means a lot to me.”
Johnson also praised the Ukrainian commander’s leadership and expressed solidarity with the soldiers serving under him.
“I also heard that you’re leading your soldiers, and I’m sending you strength and support,” Johnson said in the video. “I’m sending you mana from right here. I’m sorry that this has become your calling, but maybe this is exactly what you were born to do.”
“You were born to lead, because your name is Rock,” he added. “Thank you, brother, for being a fan. One day we’ll have to get a workout in together here. I appreciate you. Please send my best to all the guys — stay strong, and as my good friend says, fight hard.”
The video message quickly spread on Ukrainian social media after being shared by the regiment.
