The Russian army launched 52 Shaheds and decoy drones overnight - air defense forces managed to destroy 40 of them, the Air Force reported on July 3.

The drones were launched from Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.

Air defense operated in the eastern and southern oblasts.

The Air Force data indicated that 22 drones were shot down by direct fire means, and another 18 were suppressed or lost through electronic warfare (EW) systems.

The military also reported direct hits from kamikaze drones in seven locations, and drone debris fell in one location.

Earlier in the evening of July 2, the Russian army launched attack UAVs toward Ukraine. Air raid alerts were issued across multiple oblasts.

According to the State Emergency Service, four people were injured in Odesa as a result of the night attack.

It was reported that a nine-story apartment building was damaged in Odesa, and a fire broke out from the 7th to the 9th floors.

Fifty residents were evacuated, including 10 people — two children among them — rescued with special equipment.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
