China finally relocates its embassy from Kyiv to Lviv
China is moving its embassy from Kyiv to Lviv, reports NV’s correspondent in the western Ukrainian city, citing Lviv Regional Military Administration head Maksym Kozytskyi on March 15.
In a message on his Telegram messenger channel, Kozytskyi recalled the long ties Ukraine and China have shared, and stated his hope that China would not supply Russian with military aid.
“China and Ukraine have been strategic partners for 30 years. This is exactly how long it has been since our countries established diplomatic relations,” the statement reads.
“We hope that China will not respond to our enemy’s requests for help.”
Chinese support for Ukraine has been measured, with China abstaining from a vote condemning the Russian invasion on March 2. However, China has also denied that it would provide Russia with military aid, and Chinese companies have refused to supply Russia with aircraft parts necessary for aircraft maintenance following Western sanctions on Russia.
