Russian drone strike sparks factory fire in Rivne Oblast, prompting evacuations

Russian drone strike ignited a blaze at an industrial enterprise in Rivne Oblast, prompting residential evacuations, local governor Oleksandr Koval reported on Oct. 2.
Preliminary reports indicate no casualties.
Emergency authorities initiated a localized evacuation of residents living in adjacent homes due to the scale and intensity of the fire consuming the facility's structures.
All relevant emergency search, rescue, and firefighting teams were deployed to the site to contain the blaze and secure the surrounding area.
Overnight, the Air Force Command issued continuous warnings regarding the movement of high-speed jet-powered strike UAVs traversing the airspace over Rivne Oblast.
Nationwide Overnight Assault on Oct. 2
Russian forces launched 108 strike drones of various types across Ukrainian territory overnight into Oct. 2. Integrated air defense units intercepted, downed, or electronically jammed 88 incoming UAVs.
Russian forces carried out another concentrated strike against Kyiv. Confirmed impacts were recorded on the Pivdennyi Bridge across the Dnipro River and a residential high-rise apartment building located in the city's Darnytskyi District.
