Shahed drone attack damages transport infrastructure and homes in Kharkiv

Russian forces struck Kharkiv with a Shahed drone, leaving one person injured, city mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on March 16.
The city's Shevchenkivskyi district was attacked first, he said. Russian troops then launched a second strike on the border of the Kyivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, damaging the city's transport infrastructure.
The shelling in Kharkiv's Shevchenkivskyi district damaged windows in three apartment buildings, as well as a fence and windows in an outbuilding, local governor Oleh Synehubov reported at 10:31 a.m. Emergency services continue to work at the impact site.
A 34-year-old man suffered an acute stress reaction in the Russian shelling, he added.
Explosions rang out in Kharkiv on the morning of March 16. Ukrainian Air Force warned of Russian UAVs approaching the city from the north.
Russia also attacked Kyiv early on March 16, activating air defense response. Debris from downed drones fell in several districts of the capital.
"The enemy is trying to hit critical infrastructure," the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) reported.
