The Russian partisan movement Black Bridge claimed responsibility on Telegram on March 20 for a deadly fire at a building in Rostov-on-Don of Russia’ FSB security service.
The act of subversion was announced with a coded message on Telegram on March 14, two days before the March 16 blaze.
"Pavlovsky Posad. FSB. Greetings from Eskobar," the message reads.
Pavlovsky Posad is a town in Moscow Oblast – the group said declared that the attack would be in another city in order to mask their true target. In addition, Black Bridge called themselves "the co-authors" of the incident in Rostov-on-Don.
Black Bridge further claimed that the fire was caused by an improvised explosive device that was placed in a container with fuel. In their statement, the group said that the Russia FSB was "a stronghold of hypocrisy, violence and injustice, whose employees fabricate criminal cases against undesirables, seize business from entrepreneurs, organize sabotage against civilians, and torture oppositionists."
The blaze occurred on March 16 at the building of the regional FSB border patrol agency. At least one person was killed and another two injured in the fire, which spread over 800 square meters (8,600 square feet).
An explosion in the warehouse of the Border Guard Department caused the fire, according to preliminary reports.
The Russian authorities reported that a "short circuit" had caused the fire.
