Russian invaders continue to storm Severodonetsk, says Ukraine's General Staff

Russian units continue to storm the town of Severodonetsk in order to establish full control over it, Ukraine's General Staff said in a Facebook post on June 16.

"(The enemy) is carrying out assaults, the fighting continues," reads the report.

The General Staff said that in the Severodonetsk area, the invaders continue to fire at the Ukrainian positions with all available weapons near the settlements of Bilohorivka, Lysychansk, and Severodonetsk.

In the Slovyansk area, the aggressor is conducting assault operations, searching for weaknesses in the defensive positions of Ukrainian troops. The enemy fired artillery of various calibers at civilian infrastructure near Pryshyb, Dolyna, Karnaukhivka, and Virnopillia.

In the Donetsk direction, the enemy is fighting along the contact line. The Russians’ main efforts are focused on the Bakhmut area.

According to the General Staff, the enemy did not take active action in the Lyman area. However, Ukrainian units in the area of Piskunivka came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut area, the enemy is storming positions to improve its tactical situation.

Artillery shelling was recorded near the settlements of Vesele, Soledar, Berestove, and Vovchoyarivka.
