Russian troops launch missile and artillery attacks on Avdiyivka, governor shows destruction

Invading Russian troops conducted a missile strike and two artillery attacks on Avdiyivka in Donetsk Oblast on March 20, regional governor Pavlo Kyrylenko wrote on Telegram.

One person was killed and another two injured in the attack.

An apartment and three homes were damaged, as well as the Avdiyivka Coke and Chemical plant and a food enterprise, according to photos posted by the governor.

Residential neighbourhoods in other districts of Donetsk Oblast were also targeted, including Ocheretynsky and Mariinsky.

One civilian was killed and another one injured in Bakhmut in the past 24 hours.

Three houses, a kindergarten, and a gas pipeline were damaged in Kostyantynivka.

In Siversk near Lysychansk, a kindergarten and houses were damaged.

There was also shelling in Serebryanka near Bakhmut.

Ukrainian forces have said recently that occupying Russian forces were trying to encircle Avdiyivka and the situation there might become similar to that at Bakhmut.

Russian troops shelled Kostyantynivka with Uragan multiple rocket launchers and launched missile strikes on Avdiyivka on March 13.

One missile hit a school building where a humanitarian aid center was located. One person was killed and another two were wounded in the missile attack.

An apartment building in Avdiyivka was reduced to ruins by a Russian missile strike on March 17.
