Ukrainian air forces destroy enemy command posts, ammo depot in over 40 sorties in past day

The Ukrainian Air Force has struck the Russian invaders across southern Ukraine, carrying out more than 40 sorties in one day to support the ongoing Ukrainian counteroffensive there, Ukraine’s General Staff said in a post on Facebook on Sept. 3.

“During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine carried out more than 40 sorties to support the actions of ground groups, during which several enemy command posts and an ammunition depot were destroyed,” the report read.

Moreover, the Ukrainian military said a Bayraktar TB-2 drone had launched a missile strike that caused ammunition supplies of the invading forces to detonate, and eliminated two enemy armored vehicles and their crews.

During the same period of time Russian invasion forces launched six missiles and carried out more than 20 airstrikes on military and civilian objects in Ukraine, the command said.

The Ukrainian military’s South Operational Command said the Ukrainian Air Force had launched 22 air strikes of their own in the southern areas of Ukraine over the past day, while artillery units carried out more than 400 missions.

In total, the Ukrainian military killed 106 Russian troops and destroyed 60 pieces of Russian military equipment in the past day, the command said.
