Ukrainian military successfully repels 41 Russian attacks near Pokrovsk in Donbas – General Staff
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the operational situation in Ukraine as of 8:00 a.m. on July 15 in its latest Facebook post.
Here are the main points from the report published on the General Staff's page:
- 114 combat engagements took place over the past day. The Russian forces launched three missile attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian defenders and populated areas, used four missiles, 1,168 kamikaze drones, carried out 64 air strikes (97 total), and fired 4,758 times, 79 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems;
- the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit two control points, an ammunition depot, an air defense facility, three artillery systems, an electronic warfare station and six Russian manpower clusters over the day;
- ten combat engagements took place in the Kharkiv sector, with fighting taking place near Vovchansk and Hlyboke;
- in the Kupyansk sector, the Russians conducted three attacks, and Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy assaults near Pishchane in Kharkiv Oblast and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk Oblast;
- in the Lyman sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled nine Russian attacks near Hrekivka and Makiyivka in Luhansk Oblast;
- in the Siversk sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 11 Russian attacks near Spirne, Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka and Vyyimka in Donetsk Oblast;
- in the Kramatorsk sector, the aggressor tried to break through the defense six times in the areas of Hryhorivka, Ivanivske, Andriyivka, and Chasiv Yar in Donetsk Oblast;
- in the Toretsk sector, 20 enemy attacks took place, Russia concentrated its efforts in the areas of New York, Pivnichne, and Zalizne, using bombers for support;
- in the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 41 Russian assaults in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Prohres, Novoselivka Persha and Yasnobrodivka in Donetsk Oblast. The Russians tried to force the Ukrainian units out of their positions;
- in the Kurakhove sector, Ukrainian troops are holding back the Russian invasion forces in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviyivka, Karlivka and Kostiantynivka. The enemy tried to seize the fortifications of the Ukrainian Armed Forces eight times;
- in the Vremivka sector, the Russians stormed twice without success near Vodiane and Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast;
- in the Prydniprovskyi sector, the Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian attacks in the vicinity of Krynky;
- in the Orikhiv and Huliaypole sectors, the Russians did not actively advance;
- the situation did not change significantly in the Volyn and Polissya sectors;
- Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are operating on the border with Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts. The enemy continues shelling and is increasing the density of mines along the border with Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost approximately 560,290 soldiers in Ukraine, including approximately 1,200 over the past day, according to the General Staff.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
