Ukrainian army creating more mobile air defence units
Ukraine has created several new mobile air defence units on the basis of a new batch of specially equipped off-road vehicles, the Commander of the Joint Forces the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, said in a video report on Facebook on May 10.
The world has never seen such a huge number of air and missile attacks, Nayev said of Russia’s campaign of mass missile attacks on Ukraine.
"However, we are trying to find the most effective methods of dealing with air threats,” he said.
“We’re trying to avoid any damage to our troops and ensure maximum protection of our fellow citizens and critical infrastructure," Hayev said in the video, while showing off a new batch of off-road vehicles fully equipped for air defense.
"These units will protect Ukrainian skies near Kyiv, as well as other settlements in the north and northeast of the country," he added.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
