Russia loses two more air defense systems, 45 artillery systems, and 1,2k troops in one day — General Staff
The total losses of the aggressor state Russia in its war against Ukraine now amount to approximately 953,190 troops as another 1,230 soldiers were killed or wounded over the past 24 hours alone, Ukraine's General Staff reported on May 1.

Russia’s losses in Ukraine
On Feb. 24, Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said that over three years of full-scale war, Russia's irrecoverable personnel losses had reached about 250,000 troops.
On April 1, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense reported that March 2025 marked the highest losses of Russian artillery systems and military vehicles since the beginning of the invasion.
On April 12, Syrskyi reported that since the beginning of 2025, Russia's total personnel losses had reached 140,650.
On April 18, BBC Russian Service reported that over the last two months — during which Russia has been engaged in negotiations with the US about ending the war — its frontline losses have not decreased, but surged instead.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
