Mark Carney steps in: The banker-turned-politician facing Trump’s trade war
Canada is preparing for the end of Justin Trudeau’s tenure —
the son of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. The country’s next prime
minister will be 59-year-old Mark Carney, a former head of the central banks of
both Canada and England, who will lead the nation amid Donald Trump’s newly
declared trade war. On March 9, Carney was elected as the new leader of Canada’s
Liberal Party, replacing Trudeau.
