Russian ballistic strike litters Kyiv districts with debris

Russian forces launched an overnight ballistic missile attack against Kyiv, scattering missile debris across the Podilskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported on Telegram on Aug. 27

In the Shevchenkivskyi District, falling missile fragments were recorded on the territory of an educational institution, the city officials confirmed in an update at 4:52 a.m.

They added that missile debris crashed directly into the courtyard of a residential apartment building in the Podilskyi District.

Information regarding casualties and the extent of property damage is now being clarified.

Explosions shook the capital at approximately 3:03 a.m. and 3:28 a.m. Before the detonations, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of high-speed missiles inbound.

Overnight into Aug. 27, Russian forces conducted a mass combined strike across Ukraine utilizing ballistic missiles and uncrewed aerial vehicles. In addition to Kyiv, explosions were reported in Odesa, Kryvyi Rih, as well as across Poltava and Sumy oblasts.

In Kryvyi Rih, Russian forces struck an industrial enterprise, leaving at least two civilians injured.
