Russian forces launched a massive kamikaze drone attack on the Bila Tserkva community in Ukraine’s Kyiv Oblast, resulting in one fatality and several injuries, local officials reported on Sept. 2.

Acting Mayor Hennadii Vovkotrub wrote about the attack consequences on his Facebook.

"Explosions rocked the city shortly after 1:30 a.m., with fires breaking out across multiple sites," he reported.

"Emergency services were able to quickly contain the blazes, though authorities warned residents to keep windows closed due to heavy smoke in several neighborhoods."

Photos shared by the State Emergency Service (SES) at 7:12 a.m. show the damage caused by the Shahed drone barrage. The strikes reportedly damaged hangars and a three-story industrial building, while separate fires engulfed three other buildings and private garages at a second location.

“This is the second consecutive night Bila Tserkva has come under Russian drone attack,” Vovkotrub commented, and shared images of the destruction on social media.

The Sept. 2 attack was part of a wider overnight drone assault across Ukraine.

Reports from Sumy noted widespread fires, infrastructure damage, and civilian injuries, while in Odesa Oblast, Russian drones once again targeted port infrastructure in the Izmail district.
