The toll was updated after the military confirmed the deaths of two soldiers previously listed as missing.
They were killed in a building targeted during Iran's "first wave" of retaliatory strikes against U.S. facilities in the Middle East. Their identities are being withheld for 24 hours pending notification of their closest relatives.
This update follows President Donald Trump’s confirmation on March 2 that three U.S. soldiers were killed in the joint military offensive with Israel. Trump warned at the time that the number of casualties will likely increase before the cessation of hostilities.
These military casualties are linked to the ongoing U.S. operation Epic Fury, which began alongside Israel's Lion's Roar on Feb. 28. To date, the reported toll includes:
6 killed: confirmed deaths resulting from Iranian drone and missile strikes.
5 seriously wounded: personnel now receiving intensive medical treatment.
Multiple minor injuries: several troops sustained shrapnel wounds and concussions but are expected to return to duty.
The initial U.S.-Israeli strikes successfully targeted high-ranking Iranian officials, including the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, IRGC Commander Mohammad Pakpour, and security adviser Ali Shamkhani. The White House estimates that 48 key leaders of the Iranian regime have been eliminated so far.
Iran responded with a massive barrage of ballistic missiles and drones hitting U.S. bases in Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, as well as targets in Israel. Explosions were reported in major hubs including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh.
While President Trump indicated on March 1 that some Iranian leaders expressed a desire to resume negotiations, the situation remains volatile.
On March 2, Ali Larijani, representing Iran's National Security Council, stated that Tehran will refuse any talks with the United States.
Trump has projected that the active combat phase of the conflict could last approximately four weeks.
