Ukraine strikes Russian drone launch sites in Oryol, occupied Crimea and Donetsk

According to the ministry, launch systems and drone storage sites were hit:

• On Aug. 30, near Tsymbulova in Russia's Oryol Oblast;
• On Aug. 31 and overnight into Sept. 1, in occupied Donetsk and Hvardiyske in Crimea.

Ukrainian forces also struck a Russian communications hub in Myrne, Crimea; a command-and-observation post in Polohy, in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhya Oblast; and a military equipment cluster in Verkhniokamyanka, in Ukraine's Luhansk Oblast.

"We are burning down the facilities from which the enemy launches terrorist strikes on Ukraine. We are forcing Russia toward ending the war," the Defense Ministry said.

On Aug. 30, Ukraine's General Staff reported that a drone storage depot belonging to Russia's Rubicon unit and an enemy drone control point near Chumatske, in Donetsk Oblast, had been struck. It also reported strikes on occupation command posts in Sukhodilsk, in Luhansk Oblast, and military warehouses in Berdyanske and Hirnyk, in Donetsk Oblast, as well as in Krasnosilske, in occupied Crimea. In Kadiyivka, in Luhansk Oblast, a Russian ammunition depot was hit. A Russian radar station in Pavlichi, in Russia's Bryansk Oblast, was also struck.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the successful overnight strikes by Ukraine's Defense Forces on Telegram, saying, "Russia should feel that the war is returning to where it came from."

On Aug. 28, Zelenskyy said Ukraine's Defense Forces should be launching 1,000 drones per day into Russian territory — currently, at least 300 are being launched daily.
