Drones massively attack Russia, targeting objects in its several oblasts and causing fires

Several Russian oblasts came under massive drone attack, fires broke out at the places where the debris fell, Rostov Oblast's governor Vasiliy Golubev claimed on Telegram on July 9.

The Russian Telegram channels also wrote about the alleged drone attack.

Rostov Oblast targeted

Several dozen aerial targets were downed across Rostov Oblast, Golubev claimed.

Two transformers at a power substation caught fire in the Rodionova-Nesvitaiski district. The fire extinguishing efforts are ongoing on site.

Deadwood caught fire after drone debris fell in Rostov-on-Don, the fire was promptly extinguished.

Air defense continues repelling the drone attack, Golubev added.

Attack aftermath in Volgograd Oblast

City of Kalach-on-Don in Volgograd Oblast also came under attack. Early reports indicate a local oil depot to be the enemy drones' target.

Locals recorded about 10 explosions in the city, starting at around 4 a.m. MSK, Telegram channel SHOT wrote. A fire erupted near ​​the oil depot, a black column of smoke is now visible from different parts of the city. Casualties were yet to be reported.

Belgorod under attack

At least one person died in the attack on Belgorod - the boy was claimed to receive multiple shrapnel wounds.

Several air targets were shot down near Belgorod, Governor Gladkov claimed.

Apart from one fatality mentioned, two injured are reported: one man with a mine-explosive injury and a shrapnel wound was hospitalized, and the second received treatment on spot. Windows were shattered in three private and eight apartment buildings, 2 cars, 3 farm buildings, and 2 social objects were damaged.
