In Kharkiv city and its Oblast, emergency outage schedules have been imposed to stabilize the power grid. Hourly scheduled blackouts remain in effect as well, Kharkivoblenergo reported.
In Poltava Oblast, emergency outage schedules have also been introduced. On Jan. 6, Ukrenergo instructed regional operators to implement power cuts affecting five outage groups, Poltavaoblenergo said.
In Sumy Oblast, emergency outage schedules for groups one through five were introduced in Sumy Oblast at 9:37 a.m. due to damage to the energy system caused by a Russian attack, Sumyoblenergo wrote.
Ukrenergo earlier reported that hourly power outages were being implemented across all Ukrainian oblasts for both household and industrial consumers.
Overnight on Jan. 6, Russia launched 61 drones at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defenses recorded eight strike drone hits at six locations, according to official data.
