Emergency power outages caused by night Russian attack canceled in two Ukrainian oblasts

The strikes, which targeted energy facilities in several oblasts, caused damage to equipment and led to power outages for some consumers. To prevent equipment overload and reduce voltage in local energy networks, emergency outages were introduced in parts of Kharkiv and Poltava oblasts at 10:15 a.m.

These restrictions have now been lifted.

Russian forces launched 105 Shahed drones across Ukraine overnight on Oct. 3. Ukrainian air defenses destroyed 78 of them, with one drone heading toward Belarus and 23 being "lost" in different Ukrainian oblasts, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The strikes also affected Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Poltava, and Kyiv oblasts. About 15 drones were shot down in the capital, with no reported casualties.

Ukraine's Energy Ministry reported power outages in eight oblasts due to the attacks, which also affected railway services and mines.
