Kyiv suffers fires and damage in three districts — 2 killed, 5 wounded

Updated at 9:20. Kyiv is experiencing restrictions on electric public transport due to instability in the power system, the Kyiv city administration said.

Trams No. 1 and No. 3 are delayed due to lack of power.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko clarified that in the Pecherskyi district, where debris fell on the roof of a three-storey residential building, a fire occurred and the third and second floors were partially destroyed. Medics hospitalized one injured person.

In the Darnytskyi district, UAV debris fell on a dormitory building. Timur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv administration, added that in the Darnytskyi district a fire was recorded on the third floor of an apartment building; two people were injured there, including a child.

Also, as a result of the Russian strike, premises of one medical facility in the Dnipro district were damaged. Part of its windows were blown out.

Later Klitschko added that two people were killed and five wounded, including a two-year-old child, as a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv.

On the night of Oct. 22, the Russian army attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones. A series of explosions rang out in the capital.

Energy Ministry earlier reported that Russia launched a new massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. In particular, in Poltava Oblast, objects of oil and gas industry enterprises in Myrhorod district were damaged.

Russia also struck Kyiv. Impacts and fires were reported in four districts, including in high-rise buildings; two people were killed.

In Zaporizhzhya, as a result of the night attack, 2,000 consumers are without power. A fire in an apartment block is reported, 13 people were injured.
