Massive fire breaks out at Hvardiyske airfield fuel depot in occupied Crimea
Nation7 August, 08:18 AM
At least two separate fire sites erupted at the airfield following explosions heard between 3:30 a.m. and 3:39 a.m., as well as between 4:34 a.m. and 4:47 a.m. Secondary detonations of ammunition were also reported, with flames "lighting up the area for several kilometers."
Russian forces use this specific airfield to launch Shahed strike drones, the Telegram channel added.
Witnesses also reported an explosion in Feodosia. Preliminary information suggests the strike may have hit a concentration of military equipment near the former 13th military encampment on Kerch Highway, but this information still awaits official confirmation.
Reports noted that warehouses within the 13th military encampment territory were targeted in prior strikes.
Overnight on June 22, drones attacked several facilities in temporarily occupied Crimea, including the Tavriiska Thermal Power Plant, an FSB border guard building in Armyansk, and a fuel depot area in Feodosia. Satellite data later detected a fire site situated between two fuel depots near the former 13th military encampment in Feodosia.
