Russian attack drones hit Kryvyi Rih homes and schools, wounding five

Overnight into Sept. 10, Russian forces launched attack drones at the city of Kryvyi Rih. The strikes damaged multi-story apartment buildings, detached houses, educational facilities, cultural centers, and commercial establishments.

As of 6:46 a.m., the casualty count in Kryvyi Rih rose to five wounded civilians, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration Head Oleksandr Hanzha reported.

"Two of them have been hospitalized. A 42-year-old man is in critical condition, and a 41-year-old man is in moderate condition. Medical teams are providing all necessary care," Hanzha stated.

At 1:57 a.m., head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council Oleksandr Vilkul reported that Russian troops targeted five distinct locations across Tsentralno-Miskyi and Saksahanskyi districts with loitering munitions.

According to Vilkul, direct hits were recorded within residential neighborhoods, and firefighters worked to contain active blazes at two separate sites while search-and-rescue teams operated on the ground.

The attack follows a series of lethal Russian strikes against the city:

Aug. 27: Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike against Kryvyi Rih, damaging an industrial enterprise and wounding at least two people.

Aug. 21: At approximately 4:30 p.m., two Russian strike drones hit the city's largest shopping mall, Sonyachna Halereya, killing 16 civilians and injuring 140 others.

Aug. 24–25: Following the mall strike, emergency crews conducted search-and-rescue operations among the ruins for four days, combing through roughly 5,000 square meters of rubble.

Criminal inquiry: Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Vyhivskyi confirmed that criminal charges were filed against a supermarket director inside the mall for failing to heed mandatory air raid safety protocols, noting that the facility remained operational during alerts and accounted for a significant number of the casualties.
