Toretsk reduced to ground as Russian troops push to seize control, Ukrainian military says

“The line of contact is constantly moving, so it is very difficult to say that today we (Ukrainian forces - ed.) control 40% or 50% of the city,” she said, highlighting the “frightening” devastation caused by the enemy, with Toretsk being wiped out.

“All the houses are burned down, only concrete boxes remain.”

Russian forces are using artillery, aircraft, and drones to destroy Toretsk. “The enemy enters the already scorched land in small assault groups, trying to gain a foothold where there is practically nothing.”

Earlier, on Oct. 7, Bobovnikova said that Russian troops “entered the eastern outskirts of the city and have advanced along Central Street, heading toward the Central mine.”

According to her, the enemy remains focused on capturing Pokrovsk, Kurakhiv, Kupyansk, Lyman, and Toretsk in eastern Ukraine.

On Oct. 16, the DeepState reported that Russian forces had seized the settlement of Ostrivske in the suburbs of the town of Kurakhove in Donetsk Oblast.
