Russia's war losses in Ukraine increase by 1k+ soldiers and 180+ equipment in one day

The aggressor state Russia lost around 1,080 soldiers and 185 pieces of its military equipment in a single day, Ukraine's General Staff reported on June 19.

As of June 19, 2025, the total confirmed Russian military losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion have reached 1,008,240 troops.

Ukrainian Defense Forces also destroyed the following Russian equipment over the past 24 hours:

  • Tanks — 10,951 (+4)

  • Armored fighting vehicles — 22,853 (+8)

  • Artillery systems — 29,328 (+63)

  • MLRS (multiple launch rocket systems) — 1,420 (+0)

  • Air defense systems — 1,187 (+0)

  • Aircraft — 416 (+0)

  • Helicopters — 337 (+0)

  • Tactical UAVs — 41,229 (+64)

  • Cruise missiles — 3,369 (+0)

  • Ships/boats — 28 (+0)

  • Submarines — 1 (+0)

  • Vehicles and fuel tanks — 52,420 (+108)

  • Special equipment — 3,918 (+2).

Russian losses in Ukraine

On April 18, BBC News Russian reported that even while Russia was engaged in back-channel negotiations with the US about ending the war, its battlefield losses were accelerating.

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) on May 3, Russia continues to generate enough manpower to sustain high casualty rates without deprioritizing any specific front.

On June 3, Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said that Russia had lost 200,000 troops in 2025 alone.

On June 12, Ukraine’s military intelligence's (HUR) special unit Kraken claimed that the millionth Russian casualty was Marine Sergey Mashanenkov, killed in action by Ukrainian forces.
