Efforts to eliminate the consequences of the Jan. 1 deadly Russian drone attack on downtown Kyiv continue for the third day, the State Emergencies Service reported on Telegram on Jan. 3, posting photos of the aftermath and ongoing works.
Fifty rescuers, heavy equipment, utilities and volunteers are working at the site in the Pechersk government district of the Ukrainian capital.

On Jan. 1, two people were killed and at least six others, including two pregnant women, were injured in a Russian attack on Kyiv, causing widespread damage in the city's residential and governmental quarters.
On Dec. 30, the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) reported that Russian launched more than 1,300 drones, 200 cruise missiles, 24 ballistic missiles, 22 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, and seven Zircon hypersonic missiles on the Ukrainian capital in 2024.
