A 39-year-old man detonated a grenade at the Dream Yellow
shopping center in Kyiv’s Obolonskyi District on Nov. 5 after an argument with
mall staff, police said.
The grenade turned out to be a of nonlethal training variant, and no one was injured. Police and bomb technicians responded to the scene and detained the suspect, who was visibly intoxicated.
Law enforcement officers are examining the circumstances and will determine the appropriate legal charges.
“On the scene, the investigative team and bomb technicians are working,” Kyiv Police said in a statement.
“No civilians were injured. The man has been detained and is being questioned by police. The legal classification of the incident is being decided.”
