Moldova’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Russian Ambassador Oleg Ozerov following a violation of Moldovan airspace by Russian drones, Newsmaker media outlet wrote on Feb. 13.

Moldova’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Russia’s recent drone attack on Ukraine’s Reni port (Odesa Oblast), resulting in two drones crashing in southern part of the country.

The ministry issued a formal protest, demanding an official explanation from Moscow.

"These incidents pose a serious threat to the security of our citizens and regional stability," officials wrote.

"Fortunately, there were no casualties, but these violations of Moldova’s airspace are unacceptable and cannot be tolerated."

The drone strikes occurred amid a massive overnight Russian attack on Ukraine, in which 140 Shahed drones and decoy UAVs targeted multiple oblasts, including Dnipro and Odesa. Moldovan police confirmed that several Russian drones entered Moldovan airspace, with one exploding in an open field.
