Russian drone strikes residential building near Kyiv, injuring five

Russian drone struck a residential building in the village of Chaiky near Kyiv, injuring five people, including three children, the State Emergency Service (SES) reported on July 22.

Russian forces hit the residential home in Chaiky, located in the Bucha district of Kyiv Oblast, triggering a fire that emergency responders rapidly extinguished. Medical personnel provided immediate treatment to the injured at the scene.

Kyiv Regional Military Administration head Ruslan Oliynyk added that five people in the Bucha district, including children, suffered acute stress reactions as a direct result of the strike.

The officials added that the morning attack damaged commercial office and warehouse facilities alongside two passenger vehicles in the Boryspil district.

At approximately 4 a.m., Ukrainian Air Force issued alerts warning of jet-powered UAVs entering Kyiv Oblast from the northwest and attack drones approaching Kyiv from the west, triggering air raid alerts across both the capital and the surrounding region.
