Mass Russian drone attack on the southern port city of Odesa damaged residential buildings, a high school, and a kindergarten overnight on May 18, local officials reported.

An 11-year-old boy and a 59-year-old man sustained injuries during the strikes. Both victims are receiving necessary medical assistance.

The assault caused widespread destruction across civilian infrastructure. In addition to residential complexes, the strikes severely damaged a local lyceum [a secondary school - ed.] and a kindergarten.

Operational headquarters have already been deployed at the impact sites to provide immediate assistance to affected residents, while emergency and utility services are actively working to clear the debris and deal with the aftermath of the attack.

Ukrainian Air Force earlier detected multiple groups of Russian strike drones heading toward Odesa Oblast and the city itself shortly after 1 a.m. EET on May 18. Military officials noted that Russian forces launched a portion of these UAVs directly from the Black Sea waters.
