Britain and France accused Russia of continuing to carry out attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities in violation of the Riyadh agreements, AFP reported on April 4.

“We must increase the pressure on Putin to bring him to the negotiating table,” French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said ahead of a NATO foreign ministers meeting in Brussels.

Strikes on Ukraine’s energy grid over the past three weeks clearly show that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has no desire to achieve a ceasefire.

British Foreign Secretary David Lammy echoed his French counterpart, also accusing Moscow of stalling and refusing to cease fire.

On April 1, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said that Russia did not favor the partial ceasefire proposals negotiated by the United States because they "do not address the root causes" of Moscow's war against Ukraine.
